From everyday emergencies to bushfires or the current coronavirus pandemic, Foodbank Victoria has been providing vital food relief to vulnerable Victorians for 90 years. Through our network of 533 charity partners across the State, we’re able to provide 1.2 million meals a month to Victorians in need. And while supporting our charity partners is at the core of what we do, as the State’s dedicated emergency food relief organisation, we’re also here to assist Victorians through times of crisis.

Our vision is healthy food for all. We believe that all Victorians should have regular access to healthy food. That’s why we work with organisations right across the food and grocery sector to source, rescue and distribute more than 9.3 million kilograms of food every year – that’s more than 16 million meals for those doing it tough.

Before the COVID-19 crisis, more than 1 in 5 Victorians were struggling to put food on the table. Now, with a growing number of people facing job loss, isolation and economic uncertainty, more and more people are in need of food relief. In fact, almost a third (29%) of Victorians who have sought food assistance from Foodbank Victoria’s charity partners, have never needed food relief before. To put it simply, the COVID-19 crisis has become a food crisis.

For every $1 we receive, we’re able to provide 2 meals for someone in need. Every dollar donated is two meals created. It’s that simple.
